AEAS Exam & Training Course
Australian Education Assessment Services (AEAS) is a comprehensive test designed for students who are interested in attending secondary school in Australia. It not only tests students’ English proficiency, but also assesses students’ mathematic and reasoning ability and comprehensive ability. Australia's famous private secondary schools require students to provide AEAS scores when submitting applications.
1.English Language Proficiency (2 hours, 100 full marks)
- Vocabulary: Includes a variety of item types including matching, gap filling and spelling
- Reading: 2-3 articles of different topic includes a range of topics that are appealing and relevant to students’ age and background.
- Writing: Based on topics of interest and relevance to students’ age and background, requires students to write at least 200 words (year 10-12).
- Listening: Includes a range of types including monologue, dialogue and instructions. Comprises 4-6 texts at least 20 items. Includes a variety of item types such as multiple-choice questions, matching and gap filling.
- Speaking: Comprises a range of conversational tasks such as questions on familiar and unfamiliar topics, a short presentation on a specified topic and a discussion of pictures. Students will be assessed according to complexity, accuracy of vocabulary, grammar, fluency and pronunciation.
2.Mathematical Reasoning Ability (30-45 minutes, 9 full marks)
All mathematical reasoning tests are multiple choice. Students are allowed to bring and use their calculator and dictionary during test.
3.Non-Verbal General Ability (30 minutes approximately, 9 full marks)
The non-verbal reasoning test provides an indication of the students’ general ability level. It provides a measure which is independent of learning in specific school subjects.
